Judy Helfrich grew up on the Canadian prairie where long stretches of nothing persisted in at least four dimensions. Since there were no smartphones to fill the void, Judy was forced to do things, like writing, painting, and loading Linux on unsuspecting computers.
Judy has worked mainly in IT, most recently as a GIS (geographic information systems) specialist, which is basically a cartographer on steroids. Although Judy can’t read a map, she’s not bad at making them. Her fiction has appeared in the journal Nature and various magazines and anthologies, including If This Goes On and Quantum Shorts.
